nutella and crayons

lunchtime is always an interesting time at home. you're usually starving (as in today's case) and you're usually pretty crabby. so, today, a special treat was in order. nutella chocolate hazelnut spread on graham crackers. you like to lick off the nutella and occasionally eat a graham cracker.
"want breakfast" were the first words out of ella's mouth this morning. will was hungry too. usually, the two of you stay in the nursery with daddy while i make breakfast. today, will wanted to follow me downstairs... he had a plan. he asked me to open the refrigerator. pointed to the "berries" (raspberries- his favorite) and started his own berry-buffet. after i thought he had spoiled his breakfast with sugary-goodness, i took him upstairs for a diaper change. fit ensued.
during breakfast, ella insisted she hold my cup of yogurt, and only then was i allowed to spoon it out to eat. okay?
ella and will love to color - anything that they can reach or touch. chalk outside, crayons inside. thanks to the folks at crayola for perfecting the washable crayon. i've yet to find anything that washable crayon won't come off of.
i picked up my beloved, recently departed cat, sydney, saturday. his ashes were ready at the vet. coming closer to closing the book on his post-death procedures. i miss him, so much, every day. ella and will still ask about him. saying "where nydney" - mispronouncing the "s" with an "n". cute, but it makes me think of him even more.
today, errands. housework and tiding. closing up the lovely, fall weekend.
